Called George in most records (his elder brother John Conrad was called John C. in records). Born in Dillenburg, Hesse District, Prussia (now Germany) - named for his godfather, Johann Gorg MUNCH from Kettenhausen in the Braunfels-District. Second of four sons of Friedrich Wilhelm & Maria Elisabeth Johanette (ISHEIM) ADERHOLD, who immigrated ca. 1773 to the colony of Pennsylvania and resided at Yorktown when Friedrich served in the Revolutionary militia. John George maried ca. 1796, evidently in Lincoln County, North Carolina, to Margareth HASSELBERGER. Miller and father of 12 children.

Died ca. 1836. According to a letter dated 16 MAR 1920 from Dr. Joseph Robertson HOOD to his granddaughter, "Your Greate Greate Grandfather ADERHOLD moved from Campbell County Georgia to Snakes Creek in Carroll [County], and built a mill in the days of the earliest settlement of Carroll County; He died there and was buried on a high ridge overlooking Snakes Creek; and his is a lone grave by the side of a settlement Road." The Sparks Cemetery, which I believe is the same site where the BAILEY family members are buried, is on a high point next to Snake Creek (now a reservoir), and a county road runs past it - however, it is not certain that John George is buried at the same site where the BAILEY family members are.

Death date and place and place of burial for John George's wife are not known - she apparently died during the 1860s, probably also in Carroll County, Georgia.

Son: Michael ADERHOLD, and first wife Bersheba McWHORTER; second wife Drucilla McWHORTER, niece of the first wife

----

Known also as Johann George Aderhold (the Germanic Spelling), his first wife was Nadissa Adeline Hubbard (1775-1804) whom he married in North Carolina. Together they had two children that I know of: William Frederick Aderhold Sr. (1798-1883) and John Samuel Aderhold (1800-1875) There may have been more children but not born after 1804. His second wife was Margaret Hasselberger (1780-1965). They were also married in North Carolina.
