~Kay Allen Barlowe~
Kay A. Barlowe, 76, of Jacksonville, Fla., died Thursday, Oct. 6, 1994, at the Methodist Hospice after an extended illness.
A native of Watauga County, he was a son of the late Raleigh E. and Laura [Stamey] Barlowe McKoy Wheelon. He was a retired civil service employee and a veteran of the U.S. Navy.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Nancy Dennie Barlowe, and a brother, Donald Barlowe.
Surviving are three sisters, Ovela Fox, Ruby Couture, and Mary Styles; a half-brother, Max McKoy; a half-sister, Bobbie L. McKoy; and a niece.
The funeral was held by Revs. Bubba Rose and Tom Walker at 11 a.m. Tuesday, Oct. 11, 1994 at Kirksey Funeral Home in Marion. Burial was in Zion Hill Baptist Church cemetery. Military graveside rites were performed by the American Legion Post No. 56 and the Veterans of Foreign Wars No. 4208 of McDowell County.
