Donald Jerry Barlowe, 74, died Wednesday, August 3, 1994, in Marion, McDowell County, NC.

He was born May 16, 1920 in Watauga County, NC, and was a son of Raleigh Earnest Barlowe and Laura Stamey Barlowe McKoy Wheelon.

He was a veteran of the US Army and was retired from the furniture industry.

He is survived by his wife, Gladys Hill Barlowe; one daughter, Belinda Barlowe Angley; three sons, Ernest Barlowe, Jerry Barlowe and Donald L. Barlowe; three sisters, Ovela Fox, Ruby Couture and Mary Styles; one brother, Kay Barlowe; one half-sister, Bobbie Lee McKoy; one half-brother, Robert M. McKoy; eight grandchildren and seven great-grandchildren.

Funeral services were held at Zion Hill Baptist Church on Saturday, August 6, 1994, 2:00 PM. Reverends Tom Walker and Bill Mitchell officiated. Interment was in Zion Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, Marion, NC.
