Funereal services are held on Sunday Afternoon
Claude Newton Palmer, age 34, of the Cloverdale community, Lauderdale County, who has been an employee of the county road department for the past 10 years, died Saturday midnight at ECM after a 10-day iciness. He was born March 5, 1906 son of Mr and Mrs William O. Palmer of Cloverdale and was a native and lifelong resident of Lauderdale County and member of the Free Will Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife Mrs Goldie Palmer, three daughters , Geneva Louise and Lila Ruth Palmer, a son Ross Palmer, his parents Mr and Mrs William O. Palmer, a brother Floyd Palmer, and four sisters, Mrs Buster Delano, Mrs Robert Joiner, Mrs Marvin Lindsey, Mrs Ray Haddock, all of Lauderdale County.
Funeral services were conducted at Wesley Cemetery Chapel church Sunday afternoon at 4 o’clock by Rev H.C. Killen, past of the Free will Baptist church Florence, assisted by the Rev. Fred J. Schloser, paster of Cloverdale Methodist church and Rev J.B. McGee Free Will Baptist minister. Burial followed in the cemetery there Spry Florence Directing.
