At his residence at No. 1311 Park st yesterday morning
the death of John Scharoun a resident of Syracuse for 61 years occurred.
He was born in Bremen Germany, September 11, 1824 and after coming
to this country in 1844, spent two years in Baltimore. In 1849 he married
Miss Margaret Duatzer. Besides his wife he is survived by five sons,
The Rev. Peter W. Scharoun, of Camden NJ. George, Joseph, and
Frank Scharoun of this city
and Jacob Scharoun of Toronto, Ont. and by two daughters
Sister M. Leonard of Signse NJ., and Mrs. John Heillg of Rochester.
The funeral will leave the house at 9 o'clock Saturday Morning and
half an hour later services will be held at the Church of the Assumption, Interment
will be at St. Joseph's Cemetery.
