Andrew August "Andy" Anderson Obituary Ruthven Free Press 24 Sep 1952 p 1

Andrew August Anderson, fourth son of Olaf and Mary Auderson, was born on a farm six miles southwest of Ayrshire in Booth township, Palo Alto county, December 17, 1890.

He died at his farm home northwest; of Webb, of heart disease, after an hour's illness, Friday, September 5, 1952, at the age of 61 years, 8 months, and I8 days.

He was baptized and confirmed at Norwegian Lutheran by the late Rev L. 0. Wigdahl of Ruthven, but in his later years he attended the Methodist church, when possible.

He was united in marriage to Maye Woodford, February 15, 1912, at Emmetsburg, and all but fifteen years of their married life, they lived, on his father's farm, where he was reared.

In 1940, they moved to their home in the Webb community where be resided until his passing.

He leaves to mourn, his wife, two daughters, Larene Swanson of Ayrshire, Dorothy Knox of Gillett Grove, I two sons, Eiden of Prirnghar, Raymond of Cherokee, and eight grand-children. Also surviving are bis brothers, Goodman of Emmetsburg, Oscar of Estherville, Larney of Graettinger, and two sisters. Clara Duus of Graettlnger and Mabel Spies of Mayville, North Dakota.

Precedlng him in death were a baby son, his father, mother, and two brothers. He was a member of Perfection Lodge No. 651 of Webb. Andy, as be was known to all, was a friend to everyone, and his philosophy of life was "The happiness you give away, the more you have for yourself."
