He then married Anna Wilhelmina Simpsen on Oct 10, 1911 in Anchor. They had three more children. She died in 1933.
Upon retirement, Emil moved into Sibley. After his chlldren left home, his sister, Mrs. Emma Hardt, kept house for him as long as she was able. Then his daughter, Ida Eiben moved to Sibley and cared for him until his death.
