GIBSON CITY — Elsie E. Brandt, 99, of Gibson City, formerly of rural Anchor, died at 8:50 p.m. Thursday (Nov. 4, 1993) at Gibson Community Hospital Annex, Gibson City.

Her funeral will be at 1 p.m. Sunday at St. John's Lutheran Church, rural Anchor, the Rev. Melvin Blobaum officiating. Burial will be in St. John's Lutheran Church Cemetery, rural Anchor.

Visitation will be from 6 to 8 tonight at Lamb Funeral Home, Gibson City, and from noon to 1 p.m. Sunday at the church.

Mrs. Brandt was born Dec. 4, 1893, in rural Anchor, a daughter of Emil and Pauline Rohde Steinlicht. She married Otto F. Brandt Dec. 20, 1911, in rural Sibley. He died Oct 2, 1953.

Survivors include two sons, Orville Brandt, McHenry, and Edmund Brandt, Gibson City; one daughter, Maureen Prettyman, Delavan; three half sisters, Margaret Vogel, Mason City; Viola Hurst, address unknown; and Louise Mattson, Boston; 11 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and five great-great-grandchildren.

One daughter, one granddaughter, one great-granddaughter, three brothers and four sisters preceded her in death.

Mrs. Brandt lived in the Anchor area until moving to Gibson City in 1954.

She was a lifelong member of St. John's Lutheran Church, where she taught Sunday school for seven years and was a member of the Dorcas Society of the church. She also was a member of the Anchor Home Bureau.

Memorials may be made to her church or to a charity of the donor's choice.
