OBITUARY
Murray Cottrell, 56, died early this morning at St. Joseph's hospital after an illness of three weeks. He had been a resident of Central Montana for more than 40 years. Funeral services will be held at Creel's funeral home, Monday at 1 p.m.. Interment will be in Geraldine.

Born in Grant Center, Iowa, January 12, 1899, the son of Delaska and Roba Cottrell, he left Iowa with his family as a child and moved to Woodward, OK. At the age of 15 he moved with his parents to Geraldine, Mt. In 1920 he homesteaded northeast of Roy. He went to Alaska with the government in 1942, working there as a carpenter. In 1943 he married the former Margaret Esther Kauth at Anchorage, Alaska. He returned to Roy in 1945.

Mr. Cottrell had made his residence in Lewistown since January of this year. He was a member of the Eagles, and worked here as a water well driller.

Survivors include his wife who lives in Lewistown; five sons, Melvin and Edwin of Butte, Guilbert, Sekin, WA, Harvey, Glacier Park and Delmar, now living in California; four daughters, Mrs. Leta Mae Coburn, Dallas, TX, Mrs. Eva Holding, Everett, WA, and Mrs. Eleanor Cripps, Heath, Isla Vandevent, TX; four step-daughters, Mrs. Ruth Wright, Mrs. Ava Zahn, and Mrs. Lucille Komarek, all of Roy, and Mrs. Edythe Oquist, Seattle, WA; and by four sisters, Mrs. Lulu Henderson, Belt, and Mrs. Winnie Engelland, Mrs. Edith Tanner and Mrs. Theo Nevill, all of Geraldine.
He is also survived by 26 grandchildren and four great grandchildren. He was preceded in death by three brothers.
