Gertrude Gooden was raised in Florala and Lockhart Alabama and later moved to Yalaha, Florida in January of 1958 where she remained until her demise. Gertrude was a home worker and housekeeper for many years who later in life became a member of the Church of God by Faith Yalaha. She was a very spiritual person with strong faith. She was married to George Gooden, Sr. (deceased) and had 8 children, one of which preceded her in death (Sammy Collins). Gertrude had four brothers: S.C., Homer, Joseph, and Ernest preceded in her death. She also had two sisters: Bessie M. Johnson (deceased) and Eva Black of Detroit, Michigan. Leaving to cherish many memories are Gertrudes 8 children and 21 grandchildren. Gertrude was 91 years old. A precious one from us has gone...a voice we love is still...A place is vacant in our hearts...which never can be filled...and after a lonely heartache...and many a silent tear...but always a beautiful memory...of one we love so dear. May you rest in peace with God. We miss you...
