SUN PRAIRIE - Laura M. Ellickson, age 89, died on Thursday, March 2, 1989 at a Madison hospital. She was born on November 2, 1899, in Davenport, Iowa, to Carl and Sophia Koepke. She was married in Chicago to Curtis Arthur Ellickson in 1932. She worked in retailing in Chicago and New York; and later with her family lived in Ohio and Michigan, before her husband retired to Arlington, Wisconsin. She was a long time member of Arlington United Methodist Church, a recent member of Sun Prairie United Methodist Church, the Madison Womens Club and Lake Windsor Country Club. Laura also enjoyed traveling overseas. She is survived by a daughter, Jean (Bazlul) Karim of Macomb, Illinois; a son James Curtis (Mary Ann) Ellickson of St. Johns, Michigan; two grandchildren, Kimberley Jean and Ted Curtis Ellickson of Michigan; six nieces; and a nephew. She was preceded in death by her husband in 1970; two sisters; and a brother. Memorial services will be held at ARLINGTON UNITED METHODIST CHURCH, 103 Reagles St. at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday March 4, 1989. Reverend Bernard Setterlund will officiate. There will be no visitation. The family suggest that memorials be made to the Arlington United Methodist Church.
