Laura Gilbert, daughter of Joseph Gilbert and Mélanie Lemieux, was a native of Barre, Washington, Vermont. She married Ludger Desjardins, son of Joseph Desjardins and Hélène Daigneault, on 6 Nov 1916 at Saints Peter and Paul Church in Lewiston, Androscoggin, Maine. The couple raised their family in Lewiston. Laura was widowed in 1975. She died less than a month after her husband and was interred in Saint Peter's Cemetery in Lewiston.
