Mabel America Kenville was born June 29, 1908 on her parents ranch in Paradise, Wallowa county, Oregon to Joseph Sherman Kenville, Jr. and Mary Anna (Cole) Kenville.

Her paternal grandparents were Joseph Sherman Kenville, Sr. and America Staube (Baker) Kenville.

Her maternal grandparents were John Leonard Cole and Mary Catherine (Scott) Cole.

Mable's four siblings include; Hurbert Leonard Kenville, Violet Pearl (Kenville) Reavis, Ceciel Mildred (Kenville) Evans and General Lead Kenville.

After graduating from high school, Mable attended college in Corvallis until her parent's ranch failed and she was unable to complete her education due to the lack of funding.

She married George W. Miller in 1937. He was the son of Ole Miller and Metta Christine Miller.

They became parents to; Elaine A. (Miller) Willey and Allan George Miller.

The family lived in the town of Joseph, in Wallowa county, Oregon until Mable's husband was tragically killed in 1949. Mable and her children remained in Joseph until 1958 when she moved her family to Baker, Oregon.

Mable owned her home and canned all her own homegrown vegetables. Despite poor eyesight, she loved to read and published children stories and many pieces of devotional literature. She eventually became legally blind.

In 1964 she moved to Richland, Washington to live near her son until his death in 1992.

Mable was a stellar example of courage and indomitable independence, taking care of herself until she was 94 years of age, at which point she moved to Milwaukee, Oregon to live with her daughter. Mable moved into the Oregon City Health Care Center in April of 2002.

She lived to see two personal dreams fulfilled; her children attended college and the arrival of grandchildren.

She passed away February 24, 2003 in Oregon City, Oregon. A memorial celebration was held March 29, 2003 at the Community of Christ Church in Portland, Multnomah county, Oregon.

Her cremains were laid to rest May 26, 2003 in the Prairie Creek Cemetery, outside the town of Joseph, in Wallowa county, Oregon.
