Lucille Carol Childs, age 87, died at Yavapai Regional Medical Center in Prescott, Arizona, on Monday, June 20, 2011 of Cancer.
Lucille was born August 15, 1923, in Leigh, Colfax County, Nebraska, the sixth child of 11 children, of George Brixius and Faye Marie Coulter. The family moved to Creston, Nebraska where she attended school until her junior year. They moved to Genoa, Nebraska where she graduated from high school and met and married Lyle Childs on July 22, 1941. Lyle and Lucille were the parents of four children, Robert Manning , Linda Carol, Stephen Ray, and Melissa Lynn. In the spring of 1977 they were divorced.
Lucille was preceded in death by her former husband, Lyle Childs, and her eldest son Robert Manning Childs, her parents George and Faye Brixius, three older brothers, one older sister, and one younger sister.
Lucille is survived by her children Linda Walden, Steve Childs, and Melissa Childs, 8 grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and 2 great-great grandchildren. She is also survived by three sisters and two brothers.
