Mr. Chapman died in a local hospital. He lived in Calcasieu Parish most of his life.
Survivors are his wife, Delia Sonnier Chapman,; three sons, Leonard Chapman of Topay, Warren Chapman of Moss Bluff and Burt Chapman of Aurora, Colo; four daughters, Nell Purifoy of Franklin, Melville Brown of Westlake, Karen Girlinghouse of Houston and Pam Tidwell of Gillis; one sister, Ethel Langley of Moss Bluff, eleven grandchildren and six great-grandchildren
