Homegoing Services for Lenard Chapman, 83, will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, December 20, 2019 at LeBlanc Pentecostal Church. Rev. Alfred Gibson and Rev. L.E. Robertson will officiate. The family has arranged for cremation immediately following the services.

A private burial will be held at a later date. All arrangements have been entrusted to Ardoin/Allen Parish Funeral Homes.

The family will receive visitors on Thursday, December 19, 2019 from 5-8 p.m. at LeBlanc Pentecostal Church. Visitation will resume Friday morning from 8 a.m. until time of service.

Lenard was a loving husband, father, grandfather, uncle, brother and friend. He was a devoted husband to his wife, Annie, for sixty two years. He was a faithful member of LeBlanc Pentecostal Church and was very proud of his Pentecostal heritage. Lenard was a man of strong faith. He enjoyed being outdoors, as well as, working in his yard. He was a great carpenter. He worked as a train engineer for Kansas City Southern, now known as, Union Pacific Railroad, for thirty years until his well-deserved retirement. Lenard enjoyed spending time with his family, especially his two grandchildren. He was a very kind and gentle man. He would go out of his way to help anyone in need. Lenard will be greatly missed by all who knew and loved him.
Those left to cherish Lenard’s memory include his wife, Annie Mae Chapman; one son, Jarvis Dale Chapman of Ragley; one daughter, Paige Chapman Rowell of Ragley; one brother, Warren Chapman and wife, Lou, of Westlake; four sisters, Nell Purifoy and husband, Bob, of Franklin, Melville Brown and husband, Mickey, of Lake Charles, Karen Carr of Houston, TX, and Pam Messer and husband, Vern, of Ragley; and two grandchildren, Mason and Shelby Rowell.

Lenard is preceded in death by his parents, Burley and Delia Chapman; and one brother, Bert Chapman.
