Mom was born at home, on a ranch. She was the second child of Agnes, and Charles Austin. She graduated 1949, from Selah High School, and worked in canneries, and farm labor, until she married Dad, in February 8, 1952. She started a family, with 2 girls, 1953, 1954, than 2 boys, 1956, 1958, and last a girl, in 1963. She worked on the ranch with dad, raising cows, chickens, pigs, rabbits, and kids. She enjoyed yard work, crocheting, cards, and grandkids, until she had a stroke, October 2004, and spent some time at Emerald Circle in Toppenish, my younger sister took care of her in Zillah, for a year, then 1 year Toppenish nursing home, dying in May 22, 2007.
