"Ronald James Balkey, 60, North Kansas City, died Dec. 29, 1992, at North Kansas City Hospital. Services will be at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Avondale United Methodist Church; burial in White Chapel Cemetery. The family suggests contributions to the American Lung Association. Mr. Balkey was a lifelong area resident. He was a salesman for the Zimmerman Sales Agency, Inc., of Minneapolis. He was a member of the church. He was a member of the National Rifle Association. He was a former member and past president of the Claycomo Saddle Club. He was a Navy veteran of the Korean War. Survivors include his wife, MarySue Balkey of the home; a son, James Andrew Balkey of Kansas City; two daughters, Eva Leah Borden of Ozark, Mo., and Avalon Elaine Balkey of Gladstone; and a sister, Rowena Elaine Balkey Bartels of Kansas City."
