"Clyde Ora Balkey, 89, Kansas City in Clay County, died Thursday at the home. He was born in Ridgeville Corners, Ohio, and had lived in this area for 79 years. Mr. Balkey was a cashier and payroll clerk for the American Can Co., Inc., for 41 years and retired in 1961. He was a member of the First Christian Church of North Kansas City. He was an Army veteran of World War I. He leaves his wife, Mrs. Sally O. Balkey of the home; a son, Ronald J. Balkey of Kansas City; a daughter, Mrs. Rowena Bartels of the home; five grandchildren and two great-grandchildren. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the church; burial in White Chapel Cemetery."
