Born Feb. 22, 1939, in Lynn Springs, Va., she was a daughter of the late Chester Burke and Sadie Mae Perkins Dye.
A lifelong resident of Russell County, she was a Christian who loved the Lord.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by the love of her life, her husband, Charlie A. Honaker; one son, Kenneth Lee Honaker; one grandson, Joshua Nelson Plaster; five brothers, J.C. Dye, Edward Dye, Clarence Dye, Cecil Dye and John Henry Dye; and three sisters, Peggy Dye, Virgie Dye and Noreen Helton.
Survivors include two daughters, Milly Plaster and husband Nelson and Connie Smith, all of Swords Creek; two sons, Johnny Honaker and wife Pam of Hansonville and Scotty Honaker of the home; eight precious grandchildren, Natasha Honaker of Bristol, Brandon Honaker and wife Beth of Richlands, Sara Plaster of Johnson City, Eric Honaker of Bristol, Charles Edwards of the home, Britney Nunley of Hansonville, Ryan Osborne of Swords Creek and Damian Helbert of Pounding Mill; one precious great-granddaughter, Mira Plaster of Johnson City; one sister, Josie Keen of Roanoke; three brothers, Sidney Dye, Worley Dye and Don Dye, all of Swords Creek; and several nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Sunday in the Honaker Funeral Home Chapel, Honaker, with the Rev. Delmer Spencer and the Rev. David Perkins officiating. Interment will follow in Greenhills Memory Gardens at Claypool Hill, Va.
Pallbearers will be Randy Honaker, Jamie Royal, Michael Honaker, Jeff Plaster, Tommy Dye and Brian Perkins. Honorary pallbearers will be Doug Honaker and Gerald Dye.
Friends may call at the Honaker Funeral Home after 6 p.m. Saturday, where an evening service will be conducted at 7 p.m., with the Rev. Tommy Dye officiating.
