Ivan was employed by the Southwest Missouri Railway Company for 3 years and was working on the street car line from Carthage,MO to Miami,OK at around 6:30PM on March 31 he was knocked from the street car bridge east of Baxter Springs,KS by a street car going west knocking him off into several feet of water, Ivan had been keeping the driftwood back from the bridge to avoid accidents as the water was a flood stage from recent rain, 4 days later, after the water had gone down, Ivan's body was recovered
