CANKTON-Funeral services for Mrs. Dorville Menard, the former Verlace "Mom Boss" Menard, 78, will be held at 11 a.m. Wednesday in St. John Berchman Catholic Church here with burial in the church cemetery.
The Rev. Mario Romero, pastor of St. John Berchman Catholic Church, will conduct the services.
Mrs. Menard, a native and lifelong resident of Cankton, having lived in Evangeline Oaks Guest House in Carencro since October 2000, died at 10:45 a.m. Monday, February 5, 2001, in Lafayette General Medical Center in Lafayette.
She was a parishioner of St. John Berchman Catholic Church in Cankton and had been a member of the Ladies Altar Society. Mrs. Menard had been employed at Our Lady of Lourdes Medical Center as a cook in the Dietary Department for 15 years.
Survivors include: three sons, Kermit Menard and wife Rhonda of Baton Rouge, Errol Menard and wife Judy of Vatican and Terry Lee Menard and wife Patricia of Grand Chenier; seven grandchildren, Chris Menard and wife Valerie of Carencro, Julie M. Eshelman and husband Vaughn of Houston, Texas, Craig Menard and wife Jessica of Houston, Texas, Lisa Marie M. Goulas and husband Joey of Cankton, Dawn Menard, T.J. Menard and Ashley Menard, all of Grand
Chenier; six great-grandchildren, Joshua Menard, Nicholas Menard, Wesley Menard, Evan Eshelman, Ryan Eshelman and Lex Michael Goulas; five brothers, Leroy Menard of Cankton, Leray Menard and wife Shirley of Carencro, Nathan Menard and wife Betty of Crowley, Clayton Menard and wife Dorothy of Sunset and Arthur James Menard of Vatican; and a sister, Genevieve M. Menard and husband Leon of Cankton.
Mrs. Menard was preceded in death by her husband, Dorville Menard; her parents, Mr. and Mrs. Ursin Menard, mother the former Dora Venable, both natives of Cankton; and a sister, Vergie Martin.
Pallbearers will be Kermit Menard, Errol Menard, Terry Lee Menard, Chris Menard, Joey Goulas and Craig Menard.
Melancon Funeral Home of Carencro, Louisiana was in charge of arrangements.
