Marie Anderson Sparks, 75, of Springfield, passed away peacefully on Thursday, May 5, 2011 in her home. She was born on June 2, 1935, in Paintsville, Kentucky, the daughter of the late Elon and Della (Bentley) Daniels. Marie was a member of the RiverSong Church for 25 years. Her most recent accomplishment that she was very proud of was learning how to create her own facebook page and communicating daily with family and friends. She truly enjoyed cooking for family gatherings, being devoted to her church and supporting REACT Outreach ministries. Marie dedicated much of her life to taking special care of her son Jeff for 52 years. She also loved spending time with her little dog, Benji. She is survived by her sons and daughters-in-law, David E. (Karen) Sparks, Roger L. (Penny) Sparks, Darrell E. (Kelly) Sparks, Jeffrey Sparks, Mike (Lucy) Sparks and Bruce (Debbie) Sparks; sisters and brothers-in-law, Joann (Bill) Gibson, Betty (Eddie) Bartley, Draxie (Winston) Dillon; numerous grandchildren and great-grandchildren; uncle, John Andrews; 2 step-children Julie and Darren; special friends, Brenda, Cathy and her next door neighbor Chuck; her sons step-mother, Diane Sparks and her daughter Tiffany; and numerous nieces nephews and other friends. She is preceded in death by her parents; husband, Andy Anderson; son, Keith Sparks; daughter, Cindy Sparks; brothers, Elon Daniels Jr., George H. Daniels and Larry Daniels; sister, Mary Bilotta; and former husband and father of her children, Dakota Sparks. Visitation will be held on Monday, May 9, 2011 from 5-8 p.m. at RiverSong Church, 3660 Springfield Jamestown Rd. A celebration of Marie's life will be held on Tuesday, May 10, 2011 at 11 a.m. at RiverSong Church with visitation one hour prior. Pastor Jim Britton will be officiating. Burial to follow at Rose Hill Burial Park.
