Jimmy was born June 10, 1941 in Corsicana to Burl Nowell Sr. and Lona (Lewis) Nowell. He grew up and attended schools in Wichita Falls. On July 25, 1959, he married Nancy Ann Weese. The couple moved to Globe, Arizona, where their children were born. He became owner/operator of Gila Auto Parts in Globe. In 1973, the family moved back to Wichita Falls where he became the owner/operator of Imported Auto Parts and later retired from O’Rielly Auto Parts. In December of 2010, they moved to Clifton. He enjoyed racing stock cars, gardening, fishing and all things automobiles. For several years he served on the State Board of Master Gardeners. He was a member of Grace Memorial Baptist Church. Preceding him in death were his parents; son, James Howard “Chip” Nowell; 9 brothers and 2 sisters.
He is survived by his wife, Ann Nowell of Clifton; daughter, Tammy Nowell Wallace and husband, Curt of Valley Mills; grandchildren, Tyler Wallace of Waco, Krystin Wallace Honea and husband, Joshua of Speegleville; multiple nieces, nephews and many friends.
