T.E. Hersberger, 61, Dies at Home
Lapel--Thomas E. Hersberger, 61 who resided on RR3, Anderson, four miles east of Lapel died at 6 a.m. Tuesday at the family home. Mr. Hersberger was born in Lapel and had spent his entire life in the Lapel Community. He owned and operated a milk truck in the Lapel vicinity for 25 years and 15 years ago became engaged in farming and livestock buying.

Surviving are: the widow, Hattie Pearl Hersberger; a daughter, Mrs. Phyllis Russell, Anderson; a son, James Hersberger, RR 3, Anderson; a brother Dale Hersberger, Butlerville, Ind.; two sisters, Mrs. Ida Newton and Mrs. Mabel Rambo, both of Lapel; two step-sons, Bill and Jack Richardson, both of Fort Wayne and three grandchildren.

Friends will be received after 6:30 p.m. Tuesday at the Fisher Brothers Funeral Home in Lapel. Services will be conducted at 2 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home with the Rev. Wayne Baxter, pastor of the Emanuel Methodist Church of Anderson officiating. Burial will be in the East Maplewood Cemetery at Anderson

Tom was married twice. His first wife was Lela Mae Eller who he married Nov 3, 1923. They had Phyllis and divorced after 1930. His second wife was Hattie Hoffman who he married Jan. 13, 1939.
