Ida A. Newton Obituary
Ida A. Newton, 88, Muncie, died early Tuesday at Ball Memorial Hospital following an extended illness. She was born in Lapel and lived there prior to moving to Muncie more than 20 years ago. She was a member of Ford Street United Methodist Church and a charter member of Lapel War Mothers.
She is survived by three sons, living Newton of Cookeville, Tenn., living Newton of Muncie and Herbert Newton of Lapel; one daughter, of Muncie; one sister, Mabel Rambo of Anderson; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be 2 p.m. Thursday at Scott E. Hersberger Funeral Home in Lapel with the Rev. Larry Owens officiating. Burial will be in Brookside Cemetery.
