Mrs. Rachel Lucille Baker, 77, died this morning at a local nursing home where she had been a patient for three months. She had been in failing health for three years and serious for three months. Prior to her stay in the nursing home, she resided at 212 Herriman Street.
She was born March 13, 1891, in Chillicothe, the daughter of Albert and Margaret McCreary Felt.
Mrs. Baker spent her entire life in this area and attended the Chillicothe School. She was a member of the First Christian Church.
On December 24, 1912 she was married to Oscar Case. He was preceded in death on November 7, 1918.
On February 22, 1949 she was married to Frank Baker. He died on October 7, 1946.
She is survived by two sons, Lawrence Case of Chillicothe and Oscar Case of Sunrise Beach; six grandchildren, and 17 great grandchildren.
Mrs. Baker was preceded in death by a son, Clarence, a brother and three sisters.
Memorial services will be held Thursday morning at 11 o'clock at the Norman Funeral Home with the Rev. Earl Griffith officiating. Interment will be in the Edgewood cemetery.
The family will receive friends at the Norman chapel from 7 to 8 o'clock. The casket will be closed Thursday morning and will not be reopened.
