Gertie E. Herrold, 81, of the Susquehanna Lutheran Village and formerly of Herndon, died Tuesday in the village.
She was the widow of Grant Llewellyn Troutman and William Herrold; was formerly employed as a cook at the Alvin Long American Legion Post, Mandata; and was a member of St. Paul's United Church of Christ, Urban.
Surviving are three daughters, Helen M. Allman of Lenkerville, Greta E. Defibaugh of Lebanon, and Faye I. Hornberger of Millersburg RD 1; two sons, Robert L. Troutman of Millersburg, and Mark L. Troutman of Damascus, Md.; 18 grandchildren; 25 step grandchildren; 22 great-grandchildren; 26 step great-grandchildren; and nine stepgreat-great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 10: 30 a.m. Friday in Hoover Funeral Homes with her pastor, the Rev. George P. Heberling, officiating. Burial will be in Urban Church Cemetery.
Friends may call after 7 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
