William married Keziah Barsheba Lord in 1774 in Baltimore in the then Colony of Maryland. Some researchers believe they were married in Scotland.

It is stated that William Bloyd was "a sailor on the high seas" before he married Keziah Barsheba Lord and settled down. His pay while sailing was said to be equivilant to $25 a year.

William and Keziah had the following children:

1. Stephen Bloyd, b. ca 1775 in Maryland; d. 17 Feb. 1848 in Green Co., Kentucky. He married Nancy McCubbins.

2. Martha "Patsy" Bloyd, b. ca 1776 in Queen Anne's County, Maryland, and died 25 Dec. 1835 in Hart, KY; she is buried in Horse Cave Cem., Hart Co., KY. She married Philip Philemon Larimore, Jr. in 1793 in Rockingham Co., NC.

3. Jacob Bloyd, b. ca 1777 in Maryland; left KY after 1809 and went to White River, Indiana, and died 15 April 1845 in Union County, Indiana. He married Hannah Thomas, daughter of Richard Thomas and Jane Porter. She was born ca 1781 in Maryland, and died 8 Jan. 1857 in Union Co., Indiana.

4. Purnell Bloyd, b. ca 1781 in Maryland.

5. Barsheba Alice Bloyd, b. 21 Nov. 1782 in Somerset County, MD, and died 12 Feb. 1857 in Clay County, MO. She married (1) William C. Corum 28 June 1797 and (2) William McMurtry in 1808.

6. Tobias Bloyd, b. 27 March 1784 in Maryland, and died 11 Oct. 1861 in Lynnview, Warrick County, IN [others say Spencer Co., IN). Tobias married (1) Nancy Amelia McMurtry 30 May 1805 in Green County, Kentucky by William Mathis (she died prior to 1877) and (2) Nancy Goldsby in 1805 in Green Co., KY.

7. Eli Bloyd, b. 25 April 1786 in Eastern Shore, Maryland, and died 22 April 1878 in West Fork, Washington Co., Arkansas. He married Mary Ann Graham 27 April 1806 in Green Co., KY. Eli went to the Arkansas Territory in 1816. He settled in the West Fork, Washington Co., AR area in 1828. He was buried in the West Fork Cemetery. Note: The family name spelling was "Bloyed" in AR.

8. William Bloyd, b. 1790 in Maryland; he never married; still living in 1852.

9. Hester Ann Bloyd, b. 1791 in Maryland; listed as Hatty Bloyd in marriage index, and died 1869 in Warrick Co., IN or Newburgh, IN. She married James S. McMurtry 6 July 1805 in Green Co., KY.

In Oct. 1796, William Bloyd, of Halifax Co., VA, purchased 406 acres on Hogan's Creek in Caswell Co., NC. By 1803 William Bloyd, Sr. was living in Caswell Co. when he purchased more land on Hogan's Creek. This land was adjacent to the Strader family. Halifax Co., VA was just to the north of Caswell Co., NC and not more than 10 miles from where Phillip Larimore, Jr. lived with his parents in Rockingham Co., NC. It's probable that Phillip, Jr. and Martha Bloyd were married in Halifax Co., VA. [pg. 68]

William Bloyd purchased 258 acres on London Creek, a branch of Wolf Island Creek in Rockingham Co., NC. The Bloyds were neighbors of Philemon P. Larimore, Sr.

Philip Philemon, Jr. bought 41 acres also on Wolf Creek Island near his and Martha's parents.

Note: William Bloyd's neighbors ca 1787-1800 in Rockingham Co., NC were Phillip Philemon Larimore, Sr. and Nicholas McCubbins. [pg 61].

Note: Nov. 1796 Term of the Rockingham Co., NC Grand Jury, had among its jurors, William Bloyd, Phillip Philemon Larimore, Sr. and John McCubbins.

The first record of William & Keziah Bloyd in Green Co., Kentucky was in 1805 when he was taxed for property.

He was ill in March 1809 and had a Will drawn up. He signed it with an "X" on 31 Mar. 1809. He died a short time later in Green Co.

On 15 June 1809, they had an estate sale.

Perkins of Summersville to Moses Akin a tract of land containing 134 acres. . .Parties of the first part reserve the following tract of land one acre at the old Bloyd Graveyard . . . The deed continues saying that Royal S Perkins obtained the land from Elium Perkins heirs and W F Perkins. This one acre at the "old Bloyd Graveyard" is the current cemetery.
