Margaret was the daughter of John and Sarah (Farris) Burk. She was born in Texas, but by the time of the 1870 census her family had moved to Ozark Township, Lawrence County, MO. She married John E. Adamson in Lawrenceburg on 27 Oct 1887, and the couple had the following children: Luther, Don, Hutton, Harlan "Dewey," Helen, Vincil, and Robert, plus three more unnamed daughters who died in infancy.
