Scio-Leona Edwards, 101, of Scio died Friday in Sublimity. She was born in Bedford, Ky. and moved to Oklahoma in 1901. She married John Frank Edwards on Sept. 13, 1912 in Macomb, Okla. He died Oct. 31. 1972. They moved to California in 1923 and to Linn County in 1940, finally settling in Scio.
Mrs. Edwards worked at Stayton cannery for 15 years before her retirement. Her hobbies included quilting and digging weeds out of her yard and garden.
Surviving are her sons Marvin of Stayton and John of Bremerton, Wash.; daughter, Lucille Looney of Scio; seven grandchildren, 16 grandchildren; and 14 great-grandchildren.
A private family graveside service is scheduled for 2 p.m. Monday at Miller Cemetery. Memorial contributions may be made to the Scio Emergency Rescue Unit. Weddle Funeral Home of Stayton is handling arrangements
