Bill was a life member of the Scottish Rite of Freemasonry in Tulas, OK, Checotah IOOF Lodge and the Order of the Eastern Star. He was a member of the Oklahoma and National Cattleman's Assoc., Texas Southwest Cattle Raisers Assoc. past Worthy Patron of Eastern Star, past Master of Masonic Lodge and an original enrollee of the Cherokee Nation - Cherokee Indian Roll No. 3194. Bill attended the Dwight Indian Mission, 10 mi west of Brushy. It was a boarding school for boys and girls.
