Robert “Bob” Eugene Sparks, 74, passed away on Thursday, July 2, 2015 at his home in Checotah. He was born on May 25, 1941 in Hitchita, Oklahoma to William Watie and Gertrude Ida (Hohenstein) Sparks. Bob liked to fish, drink coffee and converse with friends and family. He was a welder, boiler maker and farmer. He enjoyed working with his parents on his family farm and ranch. Bob loved helping people and tried his best to help them in any way he could. If he couldn’t help, he would at least offer a solution in his own way.
Bob found pleasure in life with the simple things. He chose to live a very simple life, when in fact he could have lived and afforded more in this life. Bob gave his time and worldly possessions to others as he would cross their paths. This is how he chose to live. Bob was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Katherine Sparks Brown of Pensacola, FL; brother, William Sparks. A memorial service celebrating the life of Robert “Bob” Sparks will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday, July 18, 2015 at Elm Grove Baptist Church with Mr. Bill Geir officiating. The family has entrusted Checotah Funeral & Cremation Service with the arrangements.
