Obituary - Mrs. Charles Grabin

Sarah E. Barnes was born near Oxford, Iowa, July 25, 1848, and died at Victor, Iowa, Sept. 17, 1922, aged 74 years, 1 month and 2 days. This month, 51 years ago, she was married to Charles Grabin at Iowa City.

Six children were born to this happy union, four girls and 2 boys. The girls all preceded the parents to the better land. Of late years Mrs. Grabin has been an invalid tenderly cared for by her devoted son, Will.

Six weeks ago Mr. Grabin died, since which time Mrs. Grabin failed rapidly, until the end came peacefully.

Mrs. Grabin was a model mother and lived to make home the dearest spot on earth to her loved ones, who repaid her sacrificial service by faithful gratitude. She is mourned by her two sons Will and Archie, and many relatives and friends.

The funeral was held on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at 2 p.m. from the Congregational church, Victor, conducted by Rev. Joseph Snowden, assisted by Rev. P. H. Hawk. Interment was made by the side of her husband in the I.O.O.F. cemetery.
