The Dispatch (Moline, IL) Tuesday, 11 Aug 1896

John Barnes, of Rock Island, the C. R. I. & P. Brakeman killed at Brooklyn, Iowa yesterday, as briefly mentioned in our West End News, fell across a track in such a manner that he had his feet cut off and was decapitated at the same time.
