Arvil M. Adams, age 78, of Grandview, died Thursday, March 5, 2009 at Missouri Veterans Home in Mt. Vernon. Arvil was born at Lurton, Arkansas on July 3, 1930 to Roy and Frona (Freeman) Adams. He married Shirley Katherine Niemeier on February 20, 1955 at Wien, Missouri and she preceded him in death on February 14, 2006.

Arvil was a Veteran of the United States Army, a Catholic, and had worked as a forklift operator for Georgia Pacific in Kansas City, Missouri.

He is survived by one son, Rocky Adams, Pleasant Hill, MO; two daughters, Ronia West, Belton, MO; and Dr. Rena Sims, Nixa, MO; four brothers, Burl, Junior and Larry Adams, all of the state of Arkansas; and Dale Adams, state of Missouri; four sisters, Gladys Sexton, Lorraine Sain, Hazel Smith, and Kathy Rawlins, all of the state of Arkansas,; eleven grandchildren, seven great grandchildren, and one great-great granddaughter.
He was preceded in death by his parents, wife Shirley, father and mother-in-law, Frank and Pauline Niemeier, three brothers-in-law, and one sister-in-law.

A Mass of Christian Burial was held March 7, 2009 ar St. Mary of the Angels Catholic Church in Wien with Fr. Philip Moriarty officiating. Burial followed in St. Mary's Cemetery, Wien.

Pallbearers will Dylan Sims, Dean West, David Howe, James Tindal, Brent Lawler, and Kyle Prince.

The family suggests memorials may be made to St. Mary's Church at Wien and these may be left at or mailed to Delaney Funeral Home 1720 N. Missouri Ave. Marceline, Missouri 64658.
