Carlos Landin, 93, died Monday September 22, 1952, at his home at 539 West 9th Street where he resided with a son, Vincent Landin. His death was due to the debilities of age. During the 17 years since he has resided in Horton, two of his granddaughters, Mrs. Dan Cortez and Mrs. Socorro Quinto have looked after his welfare and cared for him during his last illness.
He was born in Mexico, November 4, 1858, and was married there to Miss Seratia Solano. In 1916 Mr Landin and his family moved to the United States and for several years he worked in Chicago Illinois, for the Rock Island Railroad as a section foreman.
Besides his son, Vincent, he is survived by a daughter Albina Landin Hernandez of St. Joseph, Mo. He also leaves 12 grandchildren, 44 great grandchildren, and 1 great great grandchild.
Funeral services were held at St. Leo's Catholic Church this morning, ( Thursday) with burial in St. Leo's Cemetery.
Father Jerome Twomey officiated at the services.
