Charley Boothe, age 74, died Thursday, January 19, at 3:55 p.m., at his home after a brief illness. Funeral services were conducted Sunday, January 22, at 11 a.m., in the Chestnut Free Will Baptist Church, with Claude VanHoose and Gallie Isaac officiating. Burial took place in the VanHoose Cemetery at Chestnut, under direction of the Preston Funeral Home. Boothe, a son of Luke and Nan Damron Boothe, was born April 14, 1892, at Whitehouse. Spending his lifetime at Whitehouse, he had been a member of the Free Will Baptist Church and has been employed by the railroad. His wife who survives is Una Boothe. They were married in Paintsville on May 6, 1953. Also surviving are three stepsons, Kennis Boyd of Whitehouse, Billie Boyd of Dayton, Ohio, and Robert Boyd of Detroit, Michigan; three daughters, Mrs. Loretta Blair of Paintsville, Mrs. Sheila Valentine of Richmond, Virginia, and Mrs. Nancy Cook of Dayton, Ohio; two brothers, Frank Boothe of Van Lear and Harrison Boothe of Auxier, and a sister, Mrs. Lotta Greer of Thealka.
