John and Mary (Stopher) Bodle are my 3x great-grandparents.
Mary was born in Westmoreland county, Pennsylvania and moved to Indiana sometime before 8 May 1835, when she married John Bodle in Dearborn county. They were in Ohio county by the 1850 census, and finally settled in Switzerland county by 1860. They remained there until their deaths in 1889 and 1897.
Died, at the residence of her daughter Mrs. Peter Houze, Friday, July 9, 1897, at 7 a.m., Mrs. Mary Bodle, widow of John Bodle, sr., in her 82 year. Funeral services were conducted Saturday at 4 p.m. by Rev. Anderson and the remains gently laid to rest in Jacksonville Cemetery by the side of loved ones gone before.
