Carlton Joseph Peters

Carlton Joseph Peters, 33, of Lubbock left this world to be with his Heavenly Father on Sunday, June 19th, 2011. Carlton was born Oct. 11, 1977, in Lubbock to Kenny and Trish Peters. Carlton grew up in Lubbock and graduated from Monterey High School where he excelled in both football and wrestling. He married his high school sweetheart, the love of his life, Amber Wolfe Peters on May 1, 1999. They have two precious daughters, Grace and Ava, and are expecting a third child that Carlton was impatiently waiting to welcome into their family.

Carlton had a contagious joy for life and had a gift for making everyone around him feel loved and special. He loved playing games with his girls, fishing, coaching, shopping for bargains at garage sales and spending time with his family and friends. Carlton loved his own children and treated all kids with love and compassion. He had a special connection with every child that knew him; they all adored him. Carlton loved to auction and was pursuing his passion of a career as a Lubbock firefighter.

Those left to cherish his memory are his wife, Amber; daughters, Grace and Ava; parents, Kenny and Trish Peters; brother, Brandon and his wife Darby, and their children Ashley, Addison and Gage; brother, Aaron and his wife Kaycee, and their children Madelyn, Kole and Kannon; grandfather, Joe Herring; uncles and aunts, Rocky and Paula Herring, Bobby and Sylvia Herring, and Nicholas and Claudine Herring; father and mother in-law, David and Vicky Wolfe; sisters-in-law, Shannon and Sharon Wolfe; and brother-in-law, Tommy Wolfe and family.

Carlton was preceded in death by his grandparents, Carl and Doris Peters and Patty Bell Herring.

Visitation will be this evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Lake Ridge Chapel and Memorial Designers, 6025 82nd St. Services will be at 10 a.m. Friday, June 24, 2011, at Victory Life Baptist Church, 12401 Slide Road, with committal services following in the City of Lubbock Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, two memorial funds have been established for his children at City Bank, P.O. Box 5060, Lubbock, TX 79408, and First Capital, 6811 Indiana Ave., Lubbock, TX 79413, under Carlton Peters Memorial Fund. Donations can be made at any location.
