Mrs. Mary Bowman Milam, age 85, of 800 N. Fifth Ave., Apt. 510, Rome, passed away Wednesday morning in a local hospital.
Mrs. Milam was born in Floyd County on Jan. 1, 1916, daughter of the late John Edwards and Mary Ella Osborne Bowman.
She was a homemaker and was a member of Emmanuel Baptist Church. Mrs. Milam was preceded in death by her husband, William L. Milam; by two daughters, Mrs. Brenda Shores and Mrs Fay Anderson, and by a grandson, Danny Shores.
Survivors include a son, Gene Milam and his wife Ann, Rome; seven grandchildren; 12 great-grandchildren, two great-great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the graveside in East View Cemetery. Mrs. Milam's grandson, the Rev. Terry Shores, will officiate.
Mrs. Milam will lie in state at Henderson and Sons Funeral Home Friday morning from 8 a.m. until 1 p.m. The family may be contacted at the residence of the son, Gene Milam, 406 S. Pheasant Run, Rome, Ga. 30161.
Henderson and Sons Funeral Home has charge of the arrangements.
