Mr. Milam was born in Rome, GA, on November 22, 1936, son of the late William Lewis Milam and the late Mary Lou Bowman Milam. He was also preceded in death by his loving wife, Ann Lloyd Milam, to whom he was married on April 18, 1957, and by 2 sisters, Brenda Shores and Faye Anderson. Mr. Milam was in the Army National Guard Reserves for 10 years. He retired after 40 years of employment with the former Georgia Kraft (now International Paper), where he was a paper machine foreman. Mr. Milam loved playing golf and, after his retirement, found joy in anything that involved him being outdoors. He was a member of Second Avenue Baptist Church and a member of the Lindale Lodge #455 F & AM for over 50 years.
Survivors include his 2 children; 3 grandchildren; 3 great-grandchildren; nieces and nephews.
In accordance with his wishes, Mr. Milam will be cremated and a memorial service will be held at 11am on Friday, August 25, 2023, at Second Avenue Baptist Church with the Rev. Monty Stallins officiating.
The family will receive friends on Friday from 10am until service time at Second Avenue Baptist Church.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests memorial donations be made to: The Memorial Endowment Fund of Second Avenue Baptist Church, 823 E 2nd Ave. Rome, GA 30161.
