Howell Summers Clements, 94, 305 Walnut St., Lindale, died Thursday afternoon at 5:10 p.m. in a Rome hospital following an extended illness.

Mr. Clements was born in Haralson County, Sept. 6, 1889, and had spent the greater part of his life here. He was the son of the late Eva Howell and the Rev. Charles Wesley Clements. He was a retired employee of the WestPoint Pepperell Manufacturing Company, a member of the Quarter Century Club and during World War II, he worked at Battey General Hospital. He was preceded in death by his wife, the former Ada Fowler on Nov. 27, 1955.

Survivors include two daughters, Mrs. Ella Mae Burkhalter, Cedartown, Mrs. E. O. (Marguerite) Hall, Lindale; three sons, Carl C. Clements, Ojai, Calif., Hoover Clements, Cerritos, Calif., Audley W. Clements, Rome; one brother, Johnny Clements, Lindale; one sister, Mrs. Jessie Salmon, Calumet City, Ill., 11 grandchildren, 24 great-grandchildren and seven great-great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday at the Henderson-Frazier Funeral Home chapel with the Rev. David Allen officiating. Interment will follow at East View Cemetery.

Pallbearers include Barry Burkhalter, Albert Burkhalter, Audley Clements, Jr., Gary, Steve and Tim Burkhalter.
