dies Feb. 20, 2000

Audley W. Clements, 77, of 4107 Alabama Highway, died Sunday at a Rome hospital after a long illness.

Mr. CLements was born in Floyd County on July 20, 1922, son of the late Howell S. Clements and Ada Fowler Clements. He was a U.S. Navy veteran and served during World War II. Prior to retirement he was employed as an insurance agent at Life Insurance Co. of Georgia. He was a member of Pisgah Baptist Church.

Survivors include his widow, Juanita Thomas Clements; one son, Woody Clements, Rome; one sister, Ella Mae Burkhalter, Rome; and two grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday at West Oak Chapel Funeral Home with Dr. Dan Boswell officiating. Interment will be at Oaknoll Memorial Gardens.

The honor guard of Shanklin-Attaway Post 5, American Legion, will perform military graveside rites.
