witnessed by Sadie Atkinson and George Hamilton. Walter was a farmer born May 10, 1879 in
Marquette County, Wisconsin, son of Robert Atkinson and Sarah Smith. He died July 25, 1969, aged 90 years, 2 months and 15 days, and he and his second wife Martha Atkinson, were buried with their son Charles in the Marcellon Cemetery. Their only child, born in Wisconsin, was:

In about 1908, Walter was united in marriage to Martha _________, born in 1885, in Wisconsin,
daughter of parents born in Germany. She died in 1981, aged about 96 years. Their known

Charles Atkinson 1920, died in 1924.
Raymond Atkinson died in June 1986 at Portage, Columbia County, Wisconsin, aged 74 years,
7 months and 27 days, and was buried in the Marcellon Cemetery.
Th Atkinson gravestone in Marcellon Cemetery is inscribed on the front "Mother Martha 1885 - 1981" and "Father Walter 1879 - 1969." and "Son Charles 1920 - 1924." The reverse of the gravestone is inscribed "Mabel G. Atkinson June 17, 1883 - Nov. 7, 1903."
In the 1920 U. S. Census, Walter Atkinson was listed as a 39 years old farmer living on a rented
farm in Scott Township, Columbia County, Wisconsin, with his 34 years old wife Martha Atkinson and their children: 17 years old Harry Atkinson, a farm laborer; 11 years old Mildred Atkinson; and 8 years old Raymond Atkinson.
In 1961, Harry was living at 791 North Howell Street, St. Paul, Minnesota, when he applied for a
delayed birth certificate in Columbia County, Wisconsin.
