Billy lived most of his life on his property on the Gunflint Trail. He purchased the land around 1927 for $1. After living in a tent for three years, Bill built the cabin. There was a narrow strip of land between HungryJack Lake and West Bearskin Lake. Billy spent his years being a fishing guide and trapper for years. He was an avid woodsman and hunter. Well with woodworking, Billy carved and made many of his own wood artwork that is locally showcased in the old HungryJack Lodge. The road that runs down the narrow land is named after him. There is so much to say about Bill and his life, and I will continue to add to his story as time passes.
