ROCHELLE - Melvin "Mel" Brucker, 81, of Rochelle, formerly of Franklin Grove passed away June 16, 2006 at Franklin Grove Nursing Center.

Melvin was born July 8, 1924 to Harvey Brucker and Katherine Hoff in Sublette. He married Darlene Hoyle on June 15, 1952 in Nachusa.

Survivors include his wife, Darlene Brucker, one son, Philip Brucker of Aurora, two sisters, Carol Kerchner, of Mendota, and Marion Brucker, and one step-grandchild, Chris Peters. He was an uncle to many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by one daughter, Susan Peters and one sister, Doris Muhlebach.

A funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, June 20, at Coulon-Lyons Family Funeral Home, 704 N. Sixth Street, Rochelle, with Minister Carl Polstra officiating. There was one hour visitation prior to the service.
