Obituary from The Shreveport Times November 17, 1988:

SHREVEPORT: Services will be conducted at Centuries Memorial Funeral Home Chapel for Mr. Clarence Newton Pace, 81, of Shreveport at 2 p.m. November 18. The Rev. Wayne Dubose, pastor of Summer Grove Baptist Church and the Rev. Eddie DeHondt, associate pastor, will officiate. Interment will be at Centuries Memorial Park.

Mr. Pace, a native of Bienville Parish, La., entered into rest November 15, 1988 at Schumpert Medical Center. In 1931 he married Mildred Burnham in Arcadia. La. They resided in East Carroll Parish where he operated a farm and dairy. They moved to Shreveport in 1953 where he began a career in carpentry construction work. He was a member of Summer Grove Baptist Church where he served as a deacon and a member of Melton Marr Sunday School Class.

He was preceded in death by his father, John Barney Pace, his mother, Emma Boddie Pace, and two brothers, Travis Pace, and J.D. Pace. He is survived by his wife, Mildred Burnham Pace of Shreveport; a daughter and son-in-law, Marie Elliott and her husband Daryl of Houston, Texas; one son and daughter-in-law, Merlin and Virginia Pace of Shreveport; one sister, Avis Rhodes of Gibsland, La.; three grandchildren, Patricia Joneau, Teresa Rice, and Ronny Pace; five great-grandchildren, Jeffrey, Robbie, and Randall Pace, Jennifer Joneau, and Zachary Rice.

Pallbearers will be Ray Ware, Vernon Adams, Joe Ketcham, Billy Don Pace, Scott Rice, Jerry Rhodes, and Morris Pate. Honorary pallbearers will be Melton Marr Sunday School Class.
