son of James and Jennie Barnes, he was Post Master at Moncolva.
Married Catherine Black in 1850, they had three children. He died at the age of 38 in Fort Wayne IN of malaria and tyhpoid contracted during the Civil War. He has two stones, a Civil War stone at Monclova and a memorial stone in the family plot in Fayette OH.
