Soon after this marriage, the company again promoted Lott to an executive position in Central America. Lott and Alice spent most of the 1920's and 1930's in Columbia and Costa Rica, but returned to the States from time to time. They returned to America for the last time in the late 1930's. While they were visiting friends in California, Alice became ill and died. Lot returned to WV and continued to work for the same company until he retired. He died in Wheeling 20 May 1945. His body was cremated, and the ashes sent to California to be buried beside his wife. The couple had no children.
